Love & Relationships
When all the dancing is over, be sure to kiss a fairy in the middle of the night.

Re: Love & Relationships
Dear Warrior Preistess ... I'm glad you like my doves. What you're seeing is mommy feeding her baby dove.
Doves and Pigeons are the only birds that have a MILK gland to their neck. So doves are the birds closest to mammals in that they also give milk to their young. Other birds regurgitate only worms and such into their young's mouth and no MILK.
LOVE, Dove

Welcome to the Garden of Love
Take my hand. Step lightly on the stones
Lie down over here for a moment under this tree. Just relax and close your eyes. Breathe in deeply and let it all be.
I am the earth and water .... love me, for I am you.

Re: Love & Relationships
There's a great kiss in these new scenes from Bounty:
Happy Valentines Day!
There's a great love scene in "Monster Ball." I'll try to find it.
btw, this is a good place to talk about love & relationship problems and get advice. I'm not in a relationship right now, but I might as well be. My son talks to me two hours every night about the problems with his new relationship.

Re: Love & Relationships
yah theres this girl that i am "going out with"
at first i thought she was using me but now i don't think so, i just hope her intentions and emotions are what i think they are
she Bi so that makes it even harder to know what she is thinking
but there have been so many weird "signs" like to day we were driving around in Milford and just by chance we pulled in the drive way of my old house to turn around. and when we went back to the mall the mall officers told us to evacuate, thats weird right

Re: Love & Relationships
I saw you write that he was falling for you, but didn't see much indication that you were falling for him. Do you go into relationships just to be polite?
I do try to be polite. Usually turns out that I just want friendship, and guys want more. Meeting people at single websites is a drag.

Re: Love & Relationships
Waiting on a Friend
Watching girls go passing by
It aint the latest thing
Im just standing in a doorway
Im just trying to make some sense
Out of these girls go passing by
The tales they tell of men
Im not waiting on a lady
Im just waiting on a friend
A smile relieves a heart that grieves
Remember what I said
Im not waiting on a lady
Im just waiting on a friend
Im just waiting on a friend
Dont need a whore
I dont need no booze
Dont need a virgin priest
But I need someone I can cry to
I need someone to protect
Making love and breaking hearts
It is a game for youth
But Im not waiting on a lady
Im just waiting on a friend
Watching girls go passing by
It aint the latest thing

Re: Love & Relationships
Lady,
What's the highest, most satisfying, life-enhancing form of giving?
For me that would be love. It's great to share that with everyone.
As for your relationship, it would be nice to know what you want and to make that happen.
If you both don't have some kind of healthy, genuine reciprocity, or don't listen to your intuition you might be in for a ride. Either way we learn something from everyone, happy travels.
I'm just trying to form a relationship with myself and becoming strong so that I don't look outside to heal this separation inside me.

Nah, you didn't have to take my booty, I share it with you, enjoy!

Re: Love & Relationships
The computer is a social network. People spend hours on computer games like WoW which has a complex social network so gamers from all over the world can talk to each other.
This forum is like a huge library, and there are a bunch of librarians here who help me find what I'm looking for. This is also a social network that has the potential to turn into a grass roots protest org or anything else we want it to be.
I've been living in Southern Cal for a couple months, and I'm shocked at how generally unfriendly people are here. The friendliest people ride the bus or are homeless. I went to a huge internet cafe because I figured there would be a bunch of people who want to get out of lonely cubicles and interact with others while still doing their computer work.......but nobody talked to anyone, except for an old man who asked one of the young guys to look something up for him. Maybe these people are just extremely shy.
There was a famous San Francisco bridge jumper who wrote a great suicide note. He walked the very long walk from his apartment to the bridge. If just one person on the way made eye contact and smiled, he would not jump. Unfortunately, not one person smiled.
Moral of the story: be like the homeless person or humble bus rider and smile. You may end up saving someone's life.

Re: Love & Relationships
Rookie, good news about free wireless at Starbucks. I can walk to a Starbucks where there are only a couple yuppies usually with laptops. It costs $9.00 to get wireless at Starbucks, which is nuts. With free wireless, maybe some old hippies and humble people will show up with laptops and there will be more social interaction.
Ciggy, I know what you mean about the fake smiles. The Southern US is good for fake hospitality, but not if you have brown skin or a New York accent.
The rest of the world is just as screwed up as US, but less likely to talk about problems or too busy working to notice. Plus it's always easier to place blame somewhere else. Our friend, Runa, from Sweden is open about the problems in Sweden. When people realize there is a problem, that's the first step in change. Being in denial gets us nowhere.
The whole world is in this together, we must remember.

Re: Love & Relationships
Every time I meet someone from a single's website I end up counseling.
I just met someone who is newly divorced, and his business partner is
screwing him over. This person needed advice, and I'm glad I was able
to help. He's looking for a savior, and I told him he needs to be his
own savior.

Re: Love & Relationships
This is a part of what i mean by quiet desperation. it's not unique to online dating scene - it's pervasive. The male/female relationship is broken, the squareness (ethics) in business practice is broken, in short our whole society/community is broken, thanks to the master minds of the social engineering. We need to be more diligent in connecting with like minded people and form sustainable communities. It's fine for those who value privacy, and i respect that. But there is a price to pay for those who insist on privacy as if it is a virtue, because you stay disconnected from a potential community and that is your price. Privacy taken to extreme means you want to be an isolationist. That is too bad.Lady wrote:Every time I meet someone from a single's website I end up counseling. Qui-Gon ..... You hit the nail on the head. This trust/privacy issue can easilty turn into paranoia and hatred. My life is an open book, and I refuse to be afraid. I cover lots of territory on my bike, and I smile and make comments to strangers and start conversations. We really need to do as you say and cultivate friendships.

Poor Truthiness. Lexy is trampling all over his heart. Now she wants him to buy her a $100 backpack. He said no, and she cried at the shopping mall. He told her he bought her something else and it's a surprise. I wish I had a camera running when he presents her with the $15 stuffed animal. He says if she complains, he's going to break up with her right there. I hope she complains and doesn't try playing him any more. He's such a soft touch. He'd put up with anything and keeps making excuses for her bad behavior. Come on Truthy, dump the little gold digger.
